Has anyone else been noticing an unusual amount of velvet on the runways lately? This fabric has been a classic staple in the fashion world. Once considered a textile that’s almost always exclusively worn during cooler months, velvet is quickly becoming a year-round material, thanks to a push from fashion-savvy stars who are leading the plushy movement by taking it out of winter and into spring.
And who can resist the allure of velvet? It’s a fabric of nobility and royalty and on the other end of the spectrum, it boasts a dangerous streak, with connections to glam rock and nighttime seduction. And now, the smooth, luxurious material has a wonderfully arty-eccentric offbeat side.
So recently bought this luxe velvet number and I just can’t help but drink it up. I have always been a fan of 90’s fashion, obviously when Rachel Green (Friends- Tv show) gives you major fashion goals. I wanted to create looks using this single top and create something which is completely different from each other.
Grunge and minimalism were the main trends of the decade with casual street-wear, so one look is all about 90’s fashion. The second look has to be spring season inspired, well who doesn’t like pop of colours and floral blended together.
